OJSC «Slantsy Cement Plant  «CESLA» (a subsidiary of HeidelbergCement Group, one of the world's largest cement producers) and GCE Group have agreed to start the energy audit at the factory.

The energy audit together with the development of energy efficiency enhancement programs of «CESLA» for a period up to 2017 is planned to be completed by February 2012.

As Vasiliy Tarasovskiy, the Director for Energy Efficiency from GCE Group noted, the experience shows that the potential energy savings in cement factories is quite huge. As such the fuel saving, much of which is used for firing Portland cement, comes to 10-20%, heat energy - 5.10% and electric energy - 5%.

Energy audit is not the first collaboration of companies. Since 2007, GCE Group has been a consultant for the plant «CESLA» on the issue of compliance with environmental legislation.
